Be more concerned with your character
than your reputation,
because your character is what you really are,
while your reputation
is merely what others think you are.
Respect the past in the full measure of its desserts, but do not make the mistake of confusing it with the present nor seek in it the ideals of the future.
Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not
